Gold Coast Home Care is an ever-growing region, looking for dedicated Qualified and Unqualified Home Care Workers to join their team of compassionate professionals. This role involves working a minimum of 16 hours per fortnight, assisting elderly clients to live safely and independently in their own homes while promoting their well-being and autonomy.

About this role

Home Care Workers in this position work independently, traveling from one client to another and are fully supported by skilled team - including very supportive Senior Home Care Workers and Team Leaders who guide and assist field staff when working autonomously. This role offers variety, meaningful connections, and the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of others every day.

Our clients are at the heart of everything we do. To ensure they receive the highest standard of care, your reliability is crucial for maintaining regular shifts and providing coverage during both planned and unexpected absences.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on your qualifications and experience, your duties may include:

Unqualified (Level 1–2):

  • Provide domestic support including cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, dishwashing, laundry, and ironing
  • Assist with meal preparation and basic cooking, ensuring food hygiene standards
  • Offer companionship and emotional support during regular visits
  • Provide transport and support during outings, shopping, or appointments
  • Support pet care tasks if required (e.g., feeding, short walks)
  • Observe and report changes in the client’s condition to the Service Coordinator
  • Complete documentation and visit records accurately using a mobile device
  • Follow individualised care plans and the Positive Wellbeing Model of Care

Qualified (Level 2–3):

  • Support clients with daily activities such as showering, dressing, and toileting.
  • Assist clients with their medication routines, ensuring adherence to prescribed regimens.
  • Help with household tasks, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Provide companionship, assist with social outings, and support clients in engaging with their communities.
  • Contribute to the development and review of individualized care plans, ensuring they meet clients' needs and preferences.

What you can bring to the team

To be suitable for the position, ideally you have -


All Applicants:

  • A current driver’s license and a reliable, registered, and comprehensively insured vehicle suitable for work purposes are essential for this role. (Reimbursement of $0.96 per KM is provided for use of own vehicle)
  • The ability to use a smart phone and basic apps
  • Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written)


Qualified Candidates:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent
  • A minimum of 12 months' experience in a direct care role. (Desirable)
  • Assist clients with medication Certificate - HLTHPS006


Possess or willingness to obtain – All Applicants:

  • Up-to-date First Aid and CPR Certification
  • A current National Police Certificate
  • Current Influenza Vaccination.
