Key Responsibilities

As an Access Consultant in our Eastern suburbs offices, you will provide expert advice to our growing clientele base.

Your responsibilities will include:

· Reviewing architectural designs for compliance with relevant legislation, codes and standards.

· Undertaking site inspections and virtual inspections to assist project stakeholders.

· Technical reporting, including Accessibility Performance Solutions.

· Understanding of universal and inclusive design principles.

· Effective use of resources and materials in the design and development of building projects.

· Problem solving accessibility issues on construction projects.

· Stakeholder liaison and relationship management, including consultation and attending meetings.

· Working autonomously on projects.

· Preparing quotations and tenders.

· Managing small access audit programs.

Position Requirements

· Minimum of three years’ experience as an Access Consultant.

· Attention to detail, quality, and consistency.

· Demonstrated experience in conducting accessibility assessments, interpreting disability, and building legislation.

· An understanding of building anatomy.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Bluebeam Revu.

· Current driver’s license.

Qualifications

· A degree or higher in a related field, such as Building Surveying, Architecture or similar.

· Completed (or are completing) a Certificate IV in Access Consulting or Diploma of Access Consulting.

· Associate or Accredited Member of the Access Consultants Association (or eligibility to join).

· Registration as a Changing Places, SDA and Livable Housing Assessor is desirable.

· A Right to Work in Australia.

· A White Card, and ability to obtain a Working with Children Check and National Police Check.

· A driver’s licence and willingness to travel nationally.
