The Naracoorte Child Day Care Centre is a not-for-profit community-based education & care service approved to provide education and care to a maximum of 35 children.

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Child Care Centre Director to lead our team and manage the day-to-day operations of our Centre. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong leader to join our team and to step into a role where you can make a meaningful and lasting impact.

As Director, you will lead the Centre with a clear focus on community, quality, and care. You will manage the day-to-day operations of the Centre in line with legislative requirements, policies and procedures while working in partnership with the Management Committee. You will also help shape the Centre’s strategic direction to ensure programs reflect the needs of children, families and the local community.

About the role:

Provide leadership and management to educators and staff regarding all aspects of the operation of the service in line with relevant regulations, policies and procedures

Liaise closely with and provide periodical reports to the Management Committee regarding matters relating to the operation of the service

Support educators and staff with professional training and mentoring to effectively manage the service, whilst providing feedback regarding performance on a regular systematic basis

Option to work a 9 day fortnight if desirable

Qualifications:

Degree in Early Childhood from a recognised University (as listed on the approved qualification list by ACECQA), or:

Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent)

Current Provide an Emergency First Aid response in an Education and Care Setting qualification

Current ACECQA approved Anaphylaxis and Emergency Asthma Management training

Valid Working with Children Check

Accredited Child Protection Training

Essential Experience:

Experience in a Nominated Supervisor position in an Early Childhood Service or in a leadership position in an Early Childhood Service or equivalent education role.

Proven ability in all areas of administrative procedure, curriculum development, staff professional development and training, team leadership and management of staff.

Ability to communicate effectively with staff, management and external stakeholders.

Understanding and working knowledge of WHS legislation.

Candidate to ideally have previous experience in successfully managing a budget for an early education and care service.
