We're seeking a confident and experienced rural valuation specialist to take on the role of Senior Valuer (Rural) PO4, based in Toowoomba. In this role, you'll focus on the valuation of Queensland's rural land-holdings - properties that support primary production, regional communities, and the broader economy. From grazing leases to agricultural enterprises and remote holdings, your work will contribute to statutory valuations that guide decision making on rates, land use, and investment in rural Queensland.

As part of the State Valuation Service (SVS), you'll be central to the delivery of accurate, transparent, and defensible rural land valuations under the Land Valuation Act 2010 and Land Act 1994. You'll also lead or contribute to Land Court matters and represent the State on complex rural valuation issues.

What you'll do:
You'll take ownership of significant rural valuation commitments and guide a small team to deliver high quality, consistent results. This includes preparing detailed rural property valuations, resolving grievances, managing stakeholder expectations, and mentoring peers across SVS. You'll bring a practical understanding of rural land markets, strong technical knowledge and the ability to navigate legislative and operational challenges. You'll help drive system and process improvements, represent SVS in external forums, and play a key role in shaping how rural valuation services are delivered across Queensland.

We're looking for valuers who:
• Hold a degree in land valuation (or equivalent) with rural property knowledge.
• Are currently registered (or eligible for immediate registration) with the Valuers Registration Board of Queensland.
• Have a strong interest in regional Queensland, primary production, and the economic importance of rural land.
• Communicate with confidence and demonstrate experience in stakeholder engagement and team leadership.
• Bring a proactive, solution-focused mindset and work well both independently and as part of a team.
• Hold a current C class driver's licence, with the flexibility to travel as required.

Why join us?
We are committed to being a workplace that focusses on people. This is about building resilience, encouraging innovation, and understanding that learning is a journey that never ends.
We promote a safe, inclusive and respectful place to work where all staff feel valued.
We are a mobile, flexible and agile workforce. We live by our guiding principles - proactive, courageous, pragmatic, collaborative, resilient and respectful - underpinned by the Queensland public service values.

What we offer?
• Competitive superannuation and salary sacrificing options.
• Flexible working options that encourage a healthy work-life balance.
• A variety of fantastic leave provisions, supported across the broader Queensland public sector.
• Rewarding professional career development and training opportunities.
• Relocation assistance and provisions.
• Have visible impact in your community, and directly contribute to making good jobs, better services and a great lifestyle for all Queenslanders.
