About the Role:

Are you ready to lead innovation and shape the future of learning at Curtin? As Manager, Short Form Learning, you will step into a role that pushes the boundaries of contemporary education and have the opportunity to trial ideas that haven’t been explored at Curtin before.

Based within the Centre for Learning Enterprise and Partnership Engagement (CLEPE), you will drive the design and delivery of high-impact short courses and microcredentials - delivered online, face-to-face, and through a digital-first approach. Collaborating closely with faculties, schools, and industry partners, you will ensure our offerings address real-world needs and equip learners with practical, translatable skills.

With a strong focus on inclusive design, user experience, and the integration of emerging technologies like generative AI, you’ll lead a talented team in building agile, future-ready learning products that reflect Curtin’s Learning and Teaching Strategy and Short Form Learning Strategy.

If you're a creative thinker, a natural collaborator, and passionate about redefining what learning can look like - this is your opportunity to lead the way.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Apply pedagogical theory, contemporary practice, and practical experience to analyse complex teaching and learning challenges, using high-level problem-solving skills to deliver innovative face-to-face and online learning solutions.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team of digital learning and innovation professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and transformation.
  • Manage the end-to-end design and delivery of advanced digital courses, applying project management principles while collaborating with project managers, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to meet strategic goals and timelines.
  • Lead the design and development of engaging and interactive learning materials such as videos, quizzes, and simulations, while using storyboarding, scripting, Adobe tools, and Curtin’s educational technologies to create high-quality digital content.
  • Utilise a wide range of learning platforms and educational technologies to develop, implement, and evaluate impactful online learning experiences that enhance student engagement and outcomes.

We are looking for (selection criteria):

  • Proven leadership in the innovative design and development of higher education curriculum, including capacity building, resource development, and the use of educational technologies to support continuous improvement.
  • Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead high-performing teams and engage effectively and professionally with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Advanced proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and online learning environments, with a focus on usability, accessibility, and quality assurance.
  • Experience designing engaging and innovative digital learning experiences, including the creative application of generative AI to solve complex pedagogical challenges.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver multiple projects successfully and on time.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in dynamic, fast-paced, or complex environments.

Role Requirements:

  1. As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered
  2. Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin’s satisfaction
