As a Compliance, Contract and Assurance Officer at Acacia Prison, you will play a key role in supporting business areas in maintaining compliance with contractual obligations and operational performance measures. You will be responsible for analysing, evaluating, and reporting on relevant compliance data to drive continuous improvement. Working closely with internal teams, government, and regulatory agencies, you will ensure best practices are upheld in all aspects of compliance and contractual assurance. This is a full-time role reporting to the Operational Performance Manager.
As a Compliance and Assurance Officer, you’ll make a positive impact by:
- Managing the Quality Management System (QMS), including audits and compliance with ISO 9001:2015
- Preparing risk reports and coordinating monthly risk review meetings
- Overseeing operational assurance matters and ensuring action items are completed
- Monitoring training compliance for custodial and Learning Management System (LMS) training requirements
- Managing policy and standing order updates, ensuring timely review and distribution
- Assisting in handling prisoner complaints and correspondence, ensuring timely responses and identifying trends to reduce litigation risks
- Supporting contractual obligations and performance measure reporting
- Facilitating QMS presentations during induction sessions
- Engaging with stakeholders and internal teams to drive compliance awareness and adherence

You are a detail-oriented and analytical professional with a strong background in compliance, auditing, or contract management. You thrive in structured environments and enjoy working with policies, processes, and reporting frameworks. Your excellent communication skills allow you to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and ensure adherence to compliance requirements.
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, or Contract Law (DESIRABLE)
- ISO 9001:2015 qualifications (DESIRABLE)
- At least 3 years of experience in compliance, auditing, justice, or business operations (justice setting experience highly regarded)
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
- Strong ability to engage stakeholders and drive compliance initiatives
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines without exception
