About the role
Discover Early Learning is seeking a cook for our early childhood education and care centre located in Kelmscott. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing and cooking nutritious snacks and meals for young children.

The responsibilities of the cook role include, but are not limited to: ordering groceries; cooking and planning snacks and meals for all children including those with allergies and other dietary requirements; Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic work area; reviewing menus in consultation with the team from time to time; and maintaining a food safety program and records.

What we're looking for

Commercial Cookery Qualifications / Certificate III or higher

Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

Safe Food Handling Certificate

Previous experience in childcare preferred

Ability to cater for dietary requirements and restrictions including Anaphylaxis, Allergies and Intolerances

Ensure health & safety standards are maintained at a high level at all times

Effective time management and organizational skills

Ability to work on your own and maintain a clean and functional kitchen

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
