Tax Accountant / Tax Agent

About the Role:
In this role, you will provide expert personal and business accounting services to a diverse portfolio of clients. You’ll enjoy autonomy in managing client relationships, offering tailored advice, and supporting junior team members—all within a professional yet friendly environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering exceptional service with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Independently manage a portfolio of clients, providing tax advice and planning over the phone, in-person, and via email

Prepare and advise on complex Individual Tax Returns, including High Net Worth Individuals, Australian and Foreign Investment Properties, Sole Traders, Capital Gains Tax, and Investment Income

Perform bookkeeping and bank reconciliations

Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) using Xero and Handi Ledger

Finalise year-end Financial Statements and Tax Returns for SMEs, including Companies and Trusts

Provide end-of-financial-year tax planning and advice

Supervise and delegate work to junior staff

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a tax accounting role

Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with HandiSoft, Xero, and MYOB

A Degree or Advanced Diploma in Accounting

CPA or Chartered Tax Adviser qualification (or working towards)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

A client-focused attitude and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
