The Position

We are seeking a Consultant Anaesthetist to provide high-quality clinical and non-clinical anaesthesia services. The role involves professional leadership, supervision of training registrars and medical students, and active participation in staff education and departmental development. You will report directly to the Director of Anaesthesia and work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

The Facility

This is a modern, 600-bed tertiary teaching hospital serving a diverse population of over 500,000. It is a major referral centre and provides comprehensive trauma care and a full range of medical and surgical specialties. The hospital includes a dedicated paediatric unit with capacity for up to 50 inpatients, a growing outpatient service, and a fully accredited Level 5 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The facility is well-equipped for both complex care and academic teaching, making it a leader in regional healthcare.

Requirements

To be eligible, you must meet one of the following:

Hold Specialist Registration with AHPRA (FANZCA)

Or have completed ANZCA assessment and been found to be substantially comparable
