Our wonderful Coordinator WHS is leaving (early July) and we are looking to recruit an equally talented and passionate person to continue her good work.
About the role: As the Coordinator WHS you will champion safety in a hands-on, operational capacity and tactically, through delivery of the Shire’s Safety Management Plan. You will provide specialist advice to employees, managers, safety representatives and committees, playing a key role in designing and implementing WHS programs, policies, practices and procedures that drive a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with legislative and statutory requirements.
What you’ll be doing: this diverse role has its challenges, but opportunities too! Broadly you will;
· Lead WHS planning, programs, review safety systems, and ensure compliance.
· Advise, coach, educate and train our people to ensure our operational goals are met safely.
· Build strong relationships with leaders to improve safety standards.
· Monitor safety performance, conduct audits, and follow up on improvements.
· Provide WHS support after incidents, undertake incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are completed.
What we are looking for:
· Passion for work health and safety.
· Ability to communicate and influence with impact to engage with staff.
· Confidence in managing relationships and working with diverse teams.
· Proficiency in the use of systems and Excel for reporting and data analysis.
What we offer: This position is classified as Level 8 under the Shire of Exmouth Enterprise Agreement 2017 and comes with the following remuneration and benefits;
· Base salary of $84,888 p/a
· Housing if available OR Housing Allowance of $15,600
· Location allowance of $1,955
· up to 21.5% superannuation (includes a co-contribution by you)
· Regular RDOs and 5-weeks of annual leave
· Eligibility for long service leave after 7 years of service, uniform allowance and personal protection equipment, employee assistance program and other wellbeing services.
