About the Role - We are seeking appropriately qualified and experienced applicants with a knowledge of contemporary practices in the disability or aged care sector. Reporting to the General Manager, this role will provide leadership to our most important employee’s - our support workers. You will be overseeing a mix of Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Community Participants in Townsville. This role will also need to facilitate growth and create opportunities for We2Care.

Tasks & responsibilities
The primary Tasks & responsibilities of the Disability Service Manager includes – staff management, mentoring, developing staff skills in the delivery of a person-centred approach, as well as ensuring compliance within the NDIS framework.
Rostering staff that place the participant at the centre of service delivery exercising maximum choice and control, responding to participants choices, and comply with risk management principles including WH&S.
Financial Management to ensure services are delivered as agreed and vacancies management
Mentor Support Workers in performance management and ensure processes and procedures are followed in reference to staffing matters.
Maintain and update records in the Participant Information Management System.
Commitment to continuous improvement principles and adherence to the set quality standards.

Demonstrated effective planning and organising skills in a high-volume work environment with the ability to deliver multiple outcomes within tight timeframes and with attention to details.
Evidenced experience in a roster environment, including the ability to complete required allocations accurately and in a timely manner.
Experience supervising staff and the ability to implement staff training and development, manage performance and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
Experience with supporting people achieve their goals and mentoring support workers in areas such as personal care, health and well-being, active community participation and skill development.
Understanding of challenging behaviour and of positive behaviour supports plans’, and an ability to develop this understanding in others.
Thorough understanding and commitment to Disability Services Act and Standards, Work Health and Safety and Equal Opportunity.
Undertake on-call duties as required
Has knowledge of the NDIS Pathway including – NDIS plan breakdowns, funding allocations, reviews, intakes, and report writing.
Mandatory Qualifications - A relevant Primary Health, Allied Health, Business or Community and Social Service qualification or equivalent experience in Disability or Aged Care.

Current Police Check with more than 12months Validity
Current CPR and First Aid
NDIS New Workers Orientation Module
