About You

As a Senior Drafsperson / Building Designer you’ll be overseeing the completion of design projects. Your role will be varied and involve design work (both concept design & working drawings/detailing), BIM library maintenance, communication with builders and clients via email, phone & Zoom and at times assisting with design team leadership (answering queries, upskilling & drafting checks).

The projects you will work on are typically homes between $400K & $2M, with occasional multi-residential projects which are larger in scope and value. To succeed at this role you’ll need a keen eye for detail.

Your role as an experienced designer/draftsperson means you’ll be responsible for accurate project detailing & documentation – this is a critical aspect of the work we do as building designers. You’re a natural collaborator, capable of working at home independently, but also comfortable contributing as a team player (you'll be connected remotely with the rest of the AREI team).

Tight deadlines don’t intimidate you – you’re a pro at organization and prioritization!

Extensive experience in Revit is essential. You have a great understanding of NCC & Australian Standards and are ready to dive into the varied and nuanced state and local council standards so you can lead projects across Australia.

This is a full-time role of 38 hours per week, with the option for work hours to be completed over either an 8, 9 or 10 day fortnight, to be agreed with the successful candidate.

DESIGN WARRIOR Leverage your creativity, attention to detail and Revit skills to deliver kick-ass designs & documentation.

DEADLINE BUSTER Get your projects out the door on time! You’ll be using our online project management software, Accelo to keep a handle on things.

TOOL SHARPENER Perform regular maintenance on the AREI BIM library, add to checklists and update procedures to keep things running super smoothly.

STANDARDS GURU Become the design team’s resident guru of all things NCC, Australian standards & council & design related. If you don’t know the answer, it’s your job to find it!

CLEVER COLLABORATOR Think outside the box and collaborate remotely with the team, 100% virtually, to achieve outstanding results.

AUSSIE AUSSIE Be an Australian citizen OR living in Australia (you need to understand the lifestyle & the standards to design the homes!)
