Are you passionate about workplace safety, compliance, and environmental management? We are seeking an OHSQE Advisor to play a key role in ensuring compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality standards across all sites and facilities.
About the Role
Reporting to and providing support to the General Manager, OHSQE, the OHSQE Advisor will be responsible for monitoring compliance with OHS legislation and MHF regulations, conducting audits, investigating incidents, and supporting the commitment to Zero Harm. You will liaise with internal teams, regulatory agencies, and third-party accreditation bodies to uphold industry standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and assist with audits, site visits, and compliance inspections.
- Coordinate incident investigations, analyse root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with OHS, environmental, and quality regulations, including EPA, Dangerous Goods, WorkSafe, NHVR, and VicRoads.
- Monitor and maintain the Safety Management System (BMS).
- Support compliance with Dangerous Goods and Heavy Vehicle Regulations.
- Assist with return-to-work coordination, collaborating with HR and department managers.
- Conduct training and maintain and update training records.
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance records.
- Developoing, updating and conducting emergency response planning and drills.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: Background in OHS, safety compliance, or environmental management within a chemical or hazardous materials environment.
- Education:Minimum Diploma in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent); tertiary qualifications are a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of Work Health & Safety (WHS), Dangerous Goods, and Heavy Vehicle Laws.
- High level investigation, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with regulatory bodies and internal teams.
- Ability to work independently and lead compliance initiatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and compliance tracking systems.
