Location: Sunshine Coast
Company: Stark Civil www.starkcivil.com.au
Employment Type: Full-time
Industry: Civil Construction | Land Development | Earthmoving | Vegetation Management

*Attractive bonus scheme and shareholding opportunity.

About Us:

Stark Civil is an established and growing civil contractor delivering high-quality outcomes across private subdivisions, urban utilities, bulk excavation, vegetation management, and road infrastructure projects. With a reputation for integrity and reliability and working smarter, we’re proud to support growth across Queensland through innovative and cost-effective civil solutions.

We’re now seeking a Senior Civil Estimator and Tender Coordinator to join our leadership team — someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to play a key role in winning and shaping our next generation of projects.

About the Role:

In this senior dual-function role, you will take ownership of the full tender lifecycle — from pre-bid strategy through to final submission — while also leading accurate and competitive cost estimates for major civil projects.

This position demands both technical estimating experience and strategic oversight. You’ll interface directly with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and senior management to deliver compelling, profitable tenders for projects ranging from residential subdivisions to major roadworks and land clearing operations. There is an attractive bonus scheme and shareholding opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

Tender Coordination:

Lead the preparation, coordination, and submission of tenders for civil infrastructure and land development projects

Interpret tender specifications, contract conditions, and client requirements

Coordinate with internal engineers, project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to compile technical and commercial information

Develop and maintain bid programs, schedules, and deliverables

Ensure tender submissions meet quality standards, deadlines, and compliance benchmarks

Track tender performance and drive continuous improvement in submission success rates

Civil Estimating:

Prepare detailed cost estimates for subdivisions, roadworks, utilities, bulk excavation, vegetation clearing, and erosion control

Interpret engineering plans and perform quantity take-offs

Source and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing

Identify and mitigate cost risks through proactive planning

Provide insight on cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options

Support project handovers by preparing cost summaries and estimate breakdowns for delivery teams

Skills & Experience Required:

Minimum 6–8 years of civil estimating and tender coordination experience within the local Queensland market

Proven background in residential land subdivisions, utilities, bulk earthworks, and road infrastructure

Strong knowledge of industry standards, civil construction methods, and regulatory requirements in urban development

Highly proficient in estimating software

Strong negotiation skills with subcontractors and suppliers

Ability to lead tender presentations and liaise directly with clients, consultants, and senior stakeholders

Excellent time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field

What We Offer:

Competitive salary package + company vehicle + performance incentives + shareholding opportunities

Leadership role in a growing and reputable civil construction company

Involvement in a diverse range of land development and infrastructure projects

Supportive team culture with opportunities for career advancement

The chance to make a strategic impact and contribute to business growth
