The Opportunity

Our client is a leading provider of integrated security services, with a rich, local history spanning over 45 years.

With a significant corporate transformation now completed, this business is seeking a Finance Officer to join the executive team. This role is critical in supporting the General Manager in delivering strategic goals, budgeted financial results, and driving business efficiencies.

The Role

As the Finance Officer, you will:

  • Manage the Companies new finance ERP, acting as the subject matter expert.
  • Oversee monthly and annual accounting processes, including timely preparation of management accounts, reconciliations, financial performance tracking, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly cashflows, financial reports, and commentary, ensuring accurate financial performance tracking and reporting.
  • Manage the annual budget process, including collaborating with the GM and departmental managers to construct, refine, and present the budget.
  • Support financial functions such as AP/AR, banking, payroll, and assist with inventory management and stocktake reporting.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives by providing financial analysis, business modelling, and insights to ensure financial viability and support decision-making.

About You

To be successful in this position, our ideal candidate:

  • Has at least three years’ experience in an accounting firm or the finance department of a small to medium business. We welcome applicants with equivalent skills and proven capability in the field.
  • Holds a relevant Business, Finance, or accounting degree - highly regarded but not essential.
  • Demonstrates sound knowledge of Australian accounting principles and applicable reporting standards.
  • Strong financial management skills, including cashflow management, budgeting, and reporting, with high proficiency in MYOB, Microsoft Business Central, and Excel.
  • Comfortable navigating business systems, with ideally experience in system upgrades or transitions.
