The role of Finance officer is primarily responsible for the financial processing, financial administration and financial management of the school. The role will provide information to support decision making by the Principal to ensure ongoing financial viability of the school. Whilst listed as Full time the FTE will be confirmed with the successful applicant. A hybrid working arrangement will be considered.

Selection Criteria
The following describes the key responsibilities of the Finance Officer role. The successful applicant will be able to display exampled experience in completing the following, under the direction of the Principal.
Key Responsibilities
On a weekly basis, the finance officer is required to:
Enter and pay all invoices whilst checking for appropriate authorisations
Enter all casual and staff extra hours into payroll
Enter all receipts, eg EFTPOS
On a monthly basis, the finance officer is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the financial records including:
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all school bank accounts
Prepare general journals as required for payroll, accruals, prepayments, inventory, depreciation
Maintain Petty Cash
Maintain fixed asset register
Enter and review credit card expenditures
Prepare and lodge the monthly Business Activity Statement
Complete monthly reconciliations for balance sheet items including fixed assets, debtors, prepayments, accrued expenses, loans, and contra accounts
Generate and present monthly financial reports, including variance analysis for Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements for review by the Principal
Summarise and present monthly financial reports for review by the School Advisory Committee and Finance Committee
Assist Parents & Friends Committee with financial requirements
On An Annual Basis
Generate billings for private school fees, including Pre-Kindy Billing. This also involves maintaining direct debit schedules and following up family payments
Prepare Annual Budget (Supported by CEWA)
Prepare all staff contracts (Supported by CEWA)
Prepare End of Year reconciliations and final trial balance including all year end working papers
Prepare End of Year Payroll Report (Supported by CEWA)
Prepare FBT Return (Supported by CEWA)
Ad Hoc Responsibilities
Answer all payroll queries
Prepare budget advice for teachers when needed
Follow up with long outstanding debtors
Monitor cash status and apply for overdrafts when necessary
Answer phones and assist with front desk when needed
Other duties as directed by the Principal
