Senior Project Manager - Payroll & HCM Implementation
12-Month Contract | $950 to $1100 per day| Hybrid | Immediate Start

We're seeking a highly experienced Payroll/HCM Project Manager to lead a complex transformation project for our client to implement a new payroll and HCM foundation on a one-year contract. Our client is a leading Australian IT Consulting firm specialising in delivering complex enterprise technology projects across HCM, Payroll, ERP, and Digital Transformation.

About the Role

This role is central to the success of the Payroll and HCM implementation, with payroll and time & expenses going live in December with a strict timeline to be adhered to.

This isn't a lift-and-shift - historical award interpretation adds complexity. The right candidate will know how to balance detail with delivery and manage expectations without causing downstream disruption.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of payroll and HCM implementation.
• Oversee configuration (now to August), testing (September-November), and go-live (December)
• Manage risks tied to historical payroll practices.
• Coordinate data migration and catch-up activities.
• Support future phases and modules enhancements: Learning, Performance, Rostering (January-May)
• Work closely with P&C team, systems lead, and external vendors.

• Proven experience leading complex payroll and HCM implementations
• Strong understanding of Australian payroll compliance, awards, and time tracking
• Ability to guide and support without micromanaging
• Comfortable working in lean, administratively focused teams
• Calm under pressure, particularly when working with detail-focused executives.
