AHA Great Southern operates in the not-for-profit sector offering a regional service to people with mental health conditions. With a 40-year history in the region, AHA is entering an exciting period of growth and development.
We offer a range of services that includes NDIS services, Outreach services, as well as supported accommodation through our Transitional Housing program and Community Supported Residential Units (CSRU).
We are seeking committed individuals with an interest in working in the mental health support industry on a permanent part-time basis supporting our NDIS/ Outreach Program.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with completing domestic household duties.
Support clients in navigating mental distress.
Support clients in implementing recovery goals and plans.
Coaching in, and access to, social activities & life skills activities
Maintaining and enhancing client's practical skills to promote independence and maintain positive living arrangements.
Shopping, meal preparation & dietary well-being.
About You
We are looking for experienced Support Workers who are passionate about supporting our clients to successfully live independently in the community.
To be successful in this role applicants will need;
Cert IV in Mental Health (will consider current students studying towards certificate) or will consider Cert IV in Community Services with relevant industry experience.
Demonstrated work experience in the mental health industry or community services (preferably in a community environment) and ability to work within a team
Understanding of recovery-oriented and trauma-informed principles
Demonstrated ability to foster a supportive environment while maintaining professional boundaries with residents and staff.

Mandatory Requirements
The successful candidate must also hold;
a NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
a current National Police Check (or be willing to obtain)
a current First Aid Certificate (Or be willing to maintain) and
a current WA Drivers Licence
