About the role

We’re looking for a capable and detail oriented Group Accountant to lead the finance operation of Nudo.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll manage all core finance functions including AP/AR, payroll, month-end, BAS and ATO lodgements, while also delivering clear, insightful financial reporting for the Executives and Board. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on accuracy, ownership, and contributing to big picture decisions with sound financial data.

Success in this role will include:

Accurate financial operations: Ensure timely and precise execution of payroll, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and BAS/ATO lodgements.

Strong month-end and reporting rhythm: Drive month-end close and deliver reporting packs and P&L analysis to the CEO and Board.

Financial clarity for leadership: Provide key insights to help guide business decisions and highlight opportunities or risks.

Compliance and control: Keep the business up to date with all financial and tax obligations, maintaining audit-ready records.

Process improvement: Identify ways to increase efficiency, improve visibility, and streamline financial workflows.

Key skills our ideal candidate will have

Full-cycle accounting expertise: You’re confident across all core functions (AP, AR, payroll, BAS, reconciliations, etc.)

Analytical mindset: You go beyond the numbers to deliver meaningful insights, not just reports.

Clear communicator: Able to explain financial matters to non-financial stakeholders.

Industry experience: Previous exposure to multi-entity hospitality, events, or service-based businesses is a bonus.

Detail and discipline: You love clean records, accurate reports, and staying a few steps ahead.

Tech savvy: Comfortable with modern accounting tools and cloud-based systems (we use Xero).

Experience candidates will need to smash this role

Solid experience in an accounting role where you’ve owned the finance function or been the go-to person for finance operations

Experience preparing and lodging BAS and dealing with the ATO

Proven track record managing payroll and core accounting workflows

Familiarity preparing financial statements and delivering P&L or management reports

Experience working directly with business owners or senior leaders in a small-to-medium business environment

Qualifications, licenses, or other requirements

Must be a registered BAS Agent

Accounting qualification (CPA, CA or similar) preferred but not essential if equivalent experience is demonstrated
