The Roles:
Finance business partnering has been the fastest growing part of most finance teams over the last 10 years. It’s the role that suits the accountant who has great communication skills and enjoys working across the business. It’s a great blend of EOM, budget management and stakeholder engagement.
It’s a great way for you to build a brand outside of the CFO group and maybe branch out into procurement, or program/project management, and also into other parts of the accounting function.

APS6s are the doers, the ones that get the work done and can also have an influence on clients. If you’re an accountant and reading this, I don’t need to explain the role in detail.

Your salary can be matched if you’re already in the APS. The general salary range is from $100k to $115k + Super. 12 months non-ongoing contract or permanent s26 transfer.

Your skills and experience:
You need to be an Australian Citizen and hold a baseline to be considered for these roles. But your experience doesn’t need to be only from the federal government. If you have the clearance, but your finance experience is from NFP or private sector, or ACT government – it’s worthwhile having a conversation.
