Are you a Project Engineer looking for your next move into Project Management?

We are seeking a motivated and experienced person to fill a key role of Project Manager, delivering Council’s capital works and infrastructure projects. Reporting to the Team Leader Project Delivery you’ll lead the end-to-end delivery of a wide range of projects including civil works, buildings, open space developments and special projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to high standards of quality and safety. This is an exciting opportunity to directly contribute to the development of our vibrant and growing city.

What You’ll Do

· Manage and deliver Council’s annual capital and maintenance programs across civil, open space, and building infrastructure.

· Develop project scopes, procurement strategies and detailed design plans aligned with Council objectives and asset management plans.

· Engage, manage and monitor consultants and contractors to ensure projects are delivered in compliance with contractual, legislative and quality standards.

· Prepare and monitor project budgets, purchase orders and invoices, ensuring financial accountability and timely capitalisation of assets.

· Provide technical advice and assessment for development applications, traffic management, signage and reinstatement work.

· Liaise with stakeholders including elected members, residents, developers, government agencies and internal teams to ensure effective project delivery and positive outcomes for the community.

· Maintain accurate records in line with Council’s policies and contribute to continuous improvement in project delivery and customer service.

· Promote workplace health and safety and ensure all activities are WHS compliant.

About You

You’re a driven, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You combine strong technical expertise with clear communication, stakeholder engagement and a commitment to delivering exceptional infrastructure outcomes.

To be successful, you will have:

· A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline.

· Proven experience delivering capital works or civil infrastructure projects, ideally within local government or a similar environment.

· Strong working knowledge of project management principles, procurement, contract administration and financial oversight.

· Experience working with consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.

· High-level written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders.

· Familiarity with Australian Standards, relevant legislation and local government planning and asset management frameworks.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience using project management software (e.g. MS Project) will be highly regarded.
