Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Cafe Cook to join our team and take the lead in preparing a variety of hot, freshly made food items for our fast-paced cafe. Our menu includes hearty hot breakfasts, burgers, daily hot specials, and comfort food-style meals made to order for takeaway customers.

You’ll be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality food quickly and consistently, while maintaining a clean, efficient, and compliant kitchen environment. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid cooking skills who thrives in a busy kitchen and enjoys creating satisfying food that’s packed with flavour.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook hot menu items, including breakfasts, burgers, hot sandwiches, daily specials, and more

Set up, stock, and maintain prep and service stations throughout the day

Maintain a clean and organised kitchen, including regular cleaning of equipment and surfaces

Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations

Work effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure fast, efficient service during peak times

Qualifications:

Previous cooking experience in a café, takeaway, or fast-paced kitchen setting

Ability to cook hot food quickly and consistently to order

Strong understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety practices

Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure

Strong time management and communication skills

Must be reliable, punctual, and work well in a team

Flexibility to work early mornings, as needed
