Are you passionate about geospatial data and looking for a dynamic opportunity to contribute to impactful projects? We have an exciting 6-month contract opportunity for a skilled Spatial Data Analyst to join our reputable utility client's Spatial Intelligence team. This role will involve providing technical expertise in spatial data management, geospatial reporting, and data quality analysis, helping the business make informed decisions and achieve key outcomes.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Develop, implement, and maintain geospatial data using cutting-edge techniques and tools, all within a strategic governance framework.
- Source, capture, analyse, and provide relevant spatial data to create valuable location-based insights for better decision-making across the organisation.
- Collaborate with the Senior Analyst to establish standards and procedures for managing spatial data in all formats (raster, vector, and metadata).
- Provide expert advice and training on spatial data, metadata, data standards, and workflows to various business units, capital projects, and external partners.
- Maintain the spatial data environment and related workflows, including process automation.
- Engage in activities and initiatives that align with team and organisational goals for spatial data development.
- Continuously develop your technical expertise by engaging with technical experts and business leaders.
Key Skills & Experience:
- A degree in Geography, Geographic Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong experience in geospatial information management and data governance.
- Expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and data management tools (e.g., ESRI Enterprise, Portal, ArcPro, FME, GE Smallworld).
- Proficiency in data extract, transformation, and load (ETL) processes using SQL, FME, or similar tools.
- Extensive experience sourcing and providing vector-based data services, particularly from government agencies at local, state, and federal levels.
