Belong at Home (CHC) is seeking an enthusiastic, high performing, motivated and solutions focused person to join our Finance team in a part time role, Monday to Friday, 30 hours a week in Bunbury Western Australia .

Belong at Home (CHC) is a highly respected not-for-profit local organisation providing a range of services to aged people and their carers throughout the “south west” with branches in Bunbury, Busselton, Margaret River, Collie, Donnybrook and Bridgetown.

The role of the Assistant Accountant is to support the Finance Manager and finance department in the preparation and submission of the organisations deliverables, including:-

Assist in reconciliation and review of month and year end general ledger accounts, and preparation of adjusting journals.

Demonstrated experience and knowledge in financial management functions including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and general ledger.

Working with other members of the accounts team to investigate and resolve issues and queries.

Working with other departments to facilitate the timely and correct exiting of clients.

Provide input in the development and enhancement of business processes.

Working with the other members of the accounts team and Finance Manager to prepare for and gather requested documentation during the audit.

Skills & Experience

You will have excellent communication skills, an empathetic attitude and an understanding of older people and be solution focused.

Cert IV minimum in Bookkeeping, working towards a Degree in Accounting or Business - advantageous.

Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role.

Ability to follow and propose improvements to processes and procedures.

A high attention to detail.

Strong ‘people’ skills and dedicated team player.

Passionate about the community with a positive attitude.

Advanced Excel skills.

A police clearance certificate is essential with annual flu vaccination.

Prior Xero experience an advantage.
