About the role:
Due to unprecedented growth, we are seeking Domestic Assistant Workers who are available to work across a number of shifts, in Melville and the surrounding suburbs, between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday with a minimum of 21 hours per week availability. They are required to communicate effectively with their Team leader and deliver support to clients in accordance with the clients support plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safe and hygienic domestic cleaning services to clients, including mopping, vacuuming, dusting and general housekeeping duties, along with shop by list services.
- Provide care and support to clients in accordance with their care/support plan;
- Communicate with clients, their household members and family, colleagues and others in a professional manner with respect and empathy;
- Promote and foster the independence of the client;
- Report to the coordinator any changes observed in the client, the home’s safety or other relevant aspects of the home environment;
- Complete Melville Cares documentation to the required standard;
- Work without direct supervision;
- Work within the Aged Care Standards and organisational Work Health and Safety Guidelines;
- Attend meetings, training and communicate to coordinator as required.
Essential Criteria:
- A strong commitment to supporting and assisting older people in the community;
- Ownership of and ability to operate personal smartphone to an efficient standard;
- Ability to work both in a team and independently;
- Accurate observation and reporting skills (verbal and written);
- Ability to work within the Aged Care Standards;
- ‘C’ class Western Australian motor vehicle driver’s license;
- Proven ability to organise, plan and manages workloads;
- Physical fitness, ability to pass a medical evaluation;
- Willingness to undertake required training both to maintain required competencies and develop additional skills to enhance service delivery.
