Position Profile: The Manager Social Work at the Child Development Service (CDS) is a pivotal role responsible for leading and shaping the delivery of Social Work services across the Perth Metropolitan region. This position involves a blend of strategic leadership, clinical oversight, and operational management, ensuring the provision of high-quality, family-centred care. The Manager will drive the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of Social Work programs, with a focus on enhancing outcomes for children and families.
This role requires the incumbent to provide specialist consultation, clinical leadership, and professional supervision to Social Work staff, particularly in the area of developmental paediatrics. The Manager will be responsible for fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment, promoting professional development, and ensuring adherence to best practice standards. Key responsibilities include managing complex caseloads, overseeing intake processes, planning referrals, and developing interdisciplinary clinical programs in collaboration with other professionals.
In addition to clinical responsibilities, the Manager Social Work will play a key role in policy development, advising on service-related matters, and contributing to research initiatives within the field of child health and development. The successful candidate will also be involved in developing and delivering training programs for health professionals, students, and community groups, further extending the reach and impact of the service. This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time, Fixed Term Part Time appointment with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
The initial vacancy will be for a 0.6FTE fixed term contract for 12 months and this pool will be used to fill any other vacancies that arise in the next 2 years.
About the Development Service: The Child Development Service provides multidisciplinary assessment and intervention services to infant, children and young people with developmental delay or difficulties that impact on function, participation and/or the parent-child relationship.
Clinicians adopt a child and family-centred approach, working in partnership with families to address developmental concerns that are of priority to the family.
Our teams include Clinical Psychologists, Developmental Paediatricians, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Speech Pathologists, and other allied health professionals.
