About the business unit and position
This role is within the Committees business unit which is one of three business units in the Department.
The unit’s primary role is to ensure that Legislative Assembly-administered committees have optimal capacity and support to enable them to meet their accountabilities of fiscal, legislative and policy scrutiny; and to provide oversight of statutory agencies. The unit is also passionate about the public’s involvement in parliamentary activities and works to enhance public participation and engagement with the work of the Assembly.
Committee Officers provide high-level administrative and operational support to Assembly-administered committees by undertaking inquiry-based activities, including preparation for committee meetings and for reports, and dealing with written submissions and other research documents.
