Safety Specialist – Alice Springs

Amentum is seeking a proactive and safety-focused Safety Specialist to join our team in Alice Springs. 💼 What You’ll Be Doing:

Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with Amentum’s EHS program and WHS legislation

Lead and support incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation

Deliver and coordinate safety training and toolbox talks

Maintain safety records, reports, and data tracking for incidents, near misses, and safety improvements

Provide coaching and guidance on SWMS, risk assessments, and Safe Work Procedures

Stay across current WHS legislation and advise stakeholders on relevant safety standards and requirements

Coordinate with external vendors for inspections, waste management, and other safety-related site needs

✅ What You’ll Need:

Diploma in Safety or related field (or equivalent experience)

1–3 years in a similar safety role

Strong working knowledge of the Australian Work Health and Safety Act 2011

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proven ability to engage with all levels of staff to build a strong safety culture

Current Driver’s Licence

You must be an Australian citizen (security clearance requirement)
