The Role

As the EL1 Finance Business Partner, your key responsibilities will include:

• Performing month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, journals, reconciliations, and coordinating with the statutory reporting team as needed
• Liaising regularly with business teams to understand activity drivers and build relationships
• Providing strategic analysis, advice, and reporting on financial, performance, and risk metrics
• Supporting business teams in the development of business plans, business cases, funding bids, and financial processes
• Undertaking continuous process improvement to support the achievement of service delivery outcomes

The Ideal Person

Our ideal candidate will likely come from one of two backgrounds. You may be an experienced EL1 Management Accountant or Finance Business Partner with strong technical accounting skills and relevant tertiary qualifications. While CPA or CA qualifications are highly desirable, your ability to navigate complex financial systems and deliver results will be equally valued. Alternatively, you might have a consulting background, working at the Manager level or above in a Big 4 or similar consulting firm, with experience in Federal Government engagements related to management accounting.

It is essential to demonstrate a proactive approach, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to influence others to resolve accounting challenges effectively. Familiarity with the Federal Government budget framework and experience with TechnologyOne are also crucial.

To be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian citizen and hold a Baseline security clearance.

Salary / Rate

• $122k - $144k + 14.5% Super or salary match
