Moorditj Koort Aboriginal Corporation is an Aboriginal community controlled, not-for-profit organisation that supports the health and wellness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples living in WA. Moorditj Koort Aboriginal Corporation has a range of programs designed to help Indigenous peoples in our community.

Moorditj Koort Aboriginal Corporation was established in partnership with the Aboriginal Community and the Rockingham Kwinana Divisions of General Practice (RKDGP) in 2010. The need for establishing Moorditj Koort Aboriginal Corporation was raised at a community meeting in 2009 in the Perth Metropolitan Aboriginal Planning Forums with a vison to create a ‘One Stop Shop’. The community stated that the biggest issues facing Aboriginal people was the increased number of services engaging with Aboriginal people without visible outcomes.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Practice Manager for a 6-month contract to support the start-up and accreditation process of our new Aboriginal Medical Service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in practice management, accreditation (e.g., RACGP Standards), and establishing new medical practices. Operational Management: Establish and implement efficient administrative and clinical processes to support best-practice patient care.

HR & Staff Leadership: Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of clinical and administrative staff.

Training & Mentoring: Provide on-the-job training and mentorship for a Trainee Practice Manager, helping them develop key skills in managing a healthcare practice.

Multi-Site Oversight: Manage the daily operations across multiple sites, ensuring consistency in service delivery and adherence to policies and procedures.

Finance & Resource Management: Assist in budgeting, financial planning, and procurement to ensure the practice is well-resourced.

IT & Systems Implementation: Ensure effective setup of medical software (e.g., Best Practice/Medical Director), telehealth, and patient record systems.

Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare providers, regulatory bodies, and community members.

Risk & Quality Management: Develop and implement quality assurance and risk management strategies.

Project Coordination: Work collaboratively with leadership to meet key milestones in establishing the practice.
