Operational Cropping Overseer

Are you a capable all-rounder with a passion for cropping and a solid grasp of modern machinery and farm operations? We're seeking a Senior Farmhand come Operational Cropping Overseer to join a progressive mixed-farming operation in Western Australia's beautiful high-rainfall Great Southern region.

About the Role
This is a diverse, hands-on role with a focus on cropping operations.

• 90% cropping work: including program planning, operation and maintenance of machinery, GPS-guided seeding/spraying/harvesting, and some drainage work
• 10% sheep work: mostly mustering (contractors handle major livestock procedures)
• Farm Size: 1,650ha total, with 1,100ha of cropping across three properties
• Livestock: 5,500 breeding ewes (Merino and crossbred), plus replacements

You’ll be part of a small, collaborative team led by the owners, with seasonal support at seeding and harvest. The role suits a proactive, GPS savvy and mechanically minded operator who takes pride in their work and enjoys the variety of working between three properties, liaising with the owners and agronomist. Utilising modern machinery and technology, including John Deere 8R370 & 8370RT tractors, an S780 header, sprayer, and a Morris 9360 VRT air seeder with 40ft Morris C2 bar.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong cropping experience and mechanical skills
• An independent and autonomous GPS-savvy operator
• Capable of scheduling, pre-season maintenance and machinery repairs
• A trustworthy team player with initiative, reliability, and good communication skills
• Sheep handling/mustering experience ideal (own working dogs a bonus, not essential)
