About the Team The position is located in the UTS Animal Logic Academy within the University of Technology Sydney's Ultimo campus. UTS Animal Logic Academy is a collaboration between the University of Technology Sydney, and the computer graphics animation company Animal Logic (now Netflix Animation Studios). Founded in 2017, the UTS Animal Logic Academy (ALA) primarily offers an accelerated one-year postgraduate Master of Animation and Visualisation (MAV), a Graduate Certificate in Animation and Visualisation (GCAV), as well as additional undergraduate subjects, short forms of learning and research opportunities. About the Role The Pipeline Technical Officer (Pipeline TO - referred to in the industry as Pipeline TD) will contribute to the smooth operation of the UTS Animal Logic Academy in the delivery of relevant courses, subjects and short courses but primarily for the Master of Animation and Visualisation and the undergraduate subject 41801 in Technical Direction for 3D Animation and Computer Graphics. The role provides highly specialised technical, pipeline and project services and support to staff and students. The role of the Pipeline TO is suitable for graduates with experience programming for 3D software and complex systems and/or industry professionals with specialist experience in relevant technical fields who are looking to gain more holistic experience across the 3D animation and visual effects pipeline. This role requires technical problem-solving ability within a creative environment. If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for: • Maintaining and enhancing the production pipeline using Python and DCC software APIs (Maya, Houdini, Katana, Mari, Nuke) for animation, VFX, and visualisation projects.• Developing new tools and extending pipeline functionality through software development, including custom tools like ALA's Turret.• Assisting post-graduate students with technical issues related to pipeline production and support undergraduate and short course delivery.• Troubleshooting technical and creative challenges while supporting the delivery and administration of relevant courses, workshops, and classes.• Supporting daily operations of the Academy by assisting administrative and management staff and contribute to other operational areas as needed. Remuneration & Benefits Base Salary Range: $95,893 to $103,828 (HEW 6) This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
