We’re looking for a warm, passionate Room Leader to join our well-loved team. If you're a Diploma Qualified Educator with leadership skills, a nurturing spirit, and a desire to make a meaningful impact on children’s early development, we’d love to hear from you. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a Room Leader role within a supportive, values-driven team that truly values your contributions.
About the Role:
As a Room Leader, you’ll lead the daily operations of your room and support a team of educators to deliver high-quality care and education for children aged 0 to 5. Your role will involve guiding curriculum planning, fostering a collaborative team culture, and creating a warm, engaging learning environment that supports the developmental needs of every child. You will have opportunities for ongoing professional development, mentoring, and leadership growth—while making a real difference in the lives of children and families.
As a Room Leader, you will:
- Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of developmentally appropriate learning programs.
- Support, mentor, and guide your team of educators to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment.
- Build strong, positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating space that supports children’s exploration and growth.
- Monitor and document children’s progress and development, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Oversee daily routines, transitions, and team collaboration to create a calm, consistent environment.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including child protection, health and safety, and the National Quality Framework (NQF).
- Participate in and encourage professional development to support team growth and reflective practice.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a confident and compassionate Diploma Qualified Educator who is ready to take the next step into leadership or who already thrives in a Room Leader role. The ideal candidate will:
- Hold or be actively working towards a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, with a strong understanding of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
- Have proven experience in leading a room, including developing and implementing engaging, developmentally appropriate programs that support children's individual learning and growth.
- Be passionate about promoting holistic development—supporting children’s emotional, social, physical, and cognitive well-being through intentional, play-based learning.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills, fostering positive relationships with children, families, and team members, and confidently guiding and mentoring educators within the room.
- Be an inspiring and collaborative leader, capable of supporting team cohesion, role modelling best practices, and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
- Be proactive, nurturing, and safety-conscious, ensuring the health, wellbeing, and protection of every child in your care.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, following all policies and procedures including those related to child protection, WHS, and hygiene.
- Be flexible, dependable, and dedicated to providing stability and continuity in the daily routines and care of children.
- Commit to ongoing professional development, staying current with industry trends, regulatory updates, and best practices in early education.
- Bring a positive, team-focused attitude, with a strong sense of initiative and the ability to create a warm, inclusive, and enriching environment for all.
