Early Childhood Qualified Educators

1x Part-time Assistant 3 days per week

We are seeking one Early Childhood Diploma in ECEC qualified Educator to provide high quality early childhood education to children 2-5 years, an educator who is committed to high quality practices and teamwork. Applicants will have a minimum of 12 months recent ECEC experience and experience in programming and documentation and assessment of learning, and sound knowledge of the EYLF, NQS and NQF. The position is 3 days per week (Wednesday to Friday).

Essential: Diploma in ECEC, a minimum of 12 months experience working in ECEC, Working with Children Check clearance, First Aid in Education and Care Certificate and Child Protection training.

Position Description

Essential Criteria:

· A Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care and a minimum of 12 months fulltime experience as an educator or Certificate 3 ECEC qualified and a keen desire to undertake a Diploma in ECEC Traineeship.

· A current First Aid Certificate, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis or a willingness to obtain this ASAP

· A current NSW Working with Children Check Approval and Child Protection CHCPRT001 Certificate

· Demonstrated knowledge of the EYLF, NQF and NQS.

· A commitment to uphold and contribute as a team member to our pre-school’s Vision, Values, Philosophy and Aims of Goonellabah Pre-School and the ECA code of ethics and our preschool’s policies and procedures.

· Willingness to take on the role of Certified Supervisor / Responsible Person when required.

· Written and verbal communication skills, and ability to assist the team leader with program plans, record observations and learning stories, learning experiences and documentation.

· Competent use of iPad for documentation.

Desirable Criteria

· 2 references or referees from recent employers or representatives of ECEC where you have been employed or gained work experience

· Commitment to implementation and participation in development of the preschool’s Quality Improvement Plan and Reconciliation Action Plan

· 12 months recent experience in early childhood education with 2 – 5-year-olds, and

experience working with Indigenous children, children with disabilities and children with challenging behaviors.

· A keen interest in the outdoor environment and program and planning for the outdoors learning experiences.

· Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team in a respectful, collaborative, and professional manner

· A demonstrated experience and interest to develop positive professional relationships with children and families, colleagues, associated professionals and agencies and the cultural backgrounds within the local community.

· Appreciation and respect for Aboriginal culture and multi-cultural children and families

· Respect and compassion for children and families with disabilities

· A demonstrated passion and interest in work in ECEC with young children and development of supportive relationships with their families and the community engagement.

· Willingness to promote the preschool and ECEC in community including participating in promotions and events.
