About the Role Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and the day-to-day integrity of financial processes. A key focus from July onwards will be supporting a major systems upgrade, where you will work closely with KPMG to ensure a smooth and effective transition. Your involvement in this project will be vital in shaping improved financial processes and system capabilities across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver accurate monthly and annual financial reports
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, including variance analysis
• Supervise accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger functions,1 indirect report
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, audit, and taxation requirements
• Support external audit preparation and liaise with auditors and internal stakeholders
• Play a critical role in the upcoming financial systems upgrade, working alongside KPMG
• Recommend and implement financial process improvements

About You

• Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• CPA or CA qualified
• Demonstrated experience in a senior accounting role, ideally within the education or not-for-profit sectors
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Experience in systems implementation or upgrades (highly desirable)
