We're on the lookout for a passionate and capable Restaurant Manager to join the team at Paperbark Camp – a unique role that goes beyond just running a restaurant.
As the face of our afternoon and evening experience, you'll be welcoming both in-house guests and diners, making sure everything flows seamlessly through dinner service. When the other Duty Managers are off, you'll be responsible for the whole camp – keeping things humming and guests happy.
More than anything, we're looking for someone who wants to drive our mission of “enhancing people’s lives by delivering thoughtful experiences that reconnect them with nature”.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft rosters for optimal performance
Support Duty Managers with stock ordering and inventory control
Liaise with the kitchen regarding guest requirements and conduct nightly staff briefing & handover
Managing Restaurant Reservation system (NBI) bookings, adjustments and event bookings
Run bar and dinner service
Train and support a shift supervisor for your absence (this is a 24/7 operation)
Training of night hosts and bar staff
Support the Duty Managers in the running of events
Ensuring best possible guest experience and address feedback
Maintaining the routine checklists to ensure standards are being met
Maintaining and improving average spend per head
Shared management responsibilities:
Monitor & improve employee performance and offer regular evaluation
Ensuring all departments including kitchen, front of house and housekeeping are maintaining their areas of responsibility
Control wages through careful management of the roster
Ensuring staff are signing in and out on time and correctly
Checking and approving/questioning all employees timesheets at the end of shift
Ensure property is well maintained and all buildings, furnishings and equipment are in good working order
Manage property protection and guest evacuation in case of emergency
Maintain recycling and waste management systems to meet sustainability objectives
Ensuring FT/PT employees are signing in and out
Conduct employee reviews in Aug/Sep & then again in Feb
Complete basic NBI & Preno bookings
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all employees in the workplace
Encourage positive morale and demonstrate professionalism in the workplace
Create and action marketing strategies such as locals nights, special events, menu & drink specials
All purchasing and procedures should be considered with sustainability as a key factor in decision making to ensure as minimal impact as possible
