The Engineering and Technology (E&T) branch is seeking a skilled Principal Materials Officer (Audit & Surveillance) Who is responsible for conducting audit and surveillance activities on departmental projects across Queensland will also be tasked with communicating with external stakeholders, as well as undertaking audits on asphalt plant and laboratory operations throughout the state. Ensuring compliance with both departmental and Australian standards, this role involves providing expert advice on interpreting standards, procedures, and protocols.
This role will be required to undertake interstate travel as required and will also be required to work a combination of day, afternoon and night shifts in accordance with the Shift Work Provisions of the Queensland Public Service Award - State.

Mandatory Requirements -
• Possession of a “C” Class driver's licence. Driving TMR vehicles to project job sites is a mandatory requirement of the role.
Highly Desirable Requirements -
• Possession of Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques or a Diploma of Laboratory Technology or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution or registered training organisation.
• 2 years' experience in the Construction Materials Testing industry, with knowledge in asphalt testing, production plants and / or paving operations.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct investigations and/or technical audit activities. A sound knowledge of NATA requirements and the AS ISO/IEC 17025:2018 standard is highly desirable
