Bay Providors is one of the major Ship Chandler/Suppliers of stores to Ships calling New Zealand Ports, located at Mount Maunganui, Industrial Area.

Now opening up a Branch in NEWCASTLE, AUSTRALIA so we can cater needs of our existing & new customers at Australian Ports as well.

With a strong track record of helping Ship Owners & managers achieve smooth ship operations

by supplying all Ship Stores, Critical Spare Parts, maker specific Ship Spares on time showing

operational efficiency, growth and Innovation.

Now we are extending our services towards Australian Ports, Covering Port Newcastle, Port Sydney, Port Kembla & Other Australian Ports.

We specialize in:

Deck Stores – Paint, Pilot Ladders, Ropes, Lifting gear, Hand Tools, Power tools, LSA/FFA Items and all other Deck stores

Engine Stores – Bearings, Welding Equipment’s, Hand & Power Tools, PPE’s Gaskets sheets and all other Engine stores.

Cabin Stores – Paper Products, Cleaners, Cleaning equipment’s, Linen and all other Cabin needs.

Medical Stores – All Medicines required by Flag State or regular ship use.

Bridge Stores – Navigation Equipment’s, Charts, Publications, Papers for equipment’s etc.

Electrical Stores – All type of Lamps, Cables, Fittings, Insulation mats & Putty’s and all Electrician requirements.

We are seeking talented and diligent individual with excellent communication skills for a full-time position of Technical Sales Representative / Ship Chandler at our Beresfield, Newcastle Warehouse. who can look after all sales Operations from procuring it from suppliers and then delivering it to Ships.

Technical Sales Representative / Ship Chandler

Hours of work:

Monday – Friday Roster – with Flexibility to Work Weekends.

40 Hours of Work/Week with Competitive salary as mentioned basis experience & performance.

Key responsibilities are following but not limited to:

Able to do Heavy Lifting

Able to pass drug test

Have Knowledge of Safety Equipment’s and Personal Protective Equipment’s.

Able to identify Ship Stores, Deck/Engine and marine products.

Preparing Ship stores and labelling them as per Departments of Ship.

Should be able to identify Technical Tools, Safety Items, Electrical Items and Ship related items.

Able to communicate with Ship’s Captain and other officers and get invoices and permits signed.

Knowledge of Ship Stores Loading/Unloading Operations is bonus.

Work Experience on Ships would be a major Bonus.

Have knowledge of inventory management, stock-take and stock shuffling.

Australian Car Driver License is must, Heavy vehicle License would be a Bonus.

Have knowledge of palletizing and packaging goods.

Forklift experience/License is bonus, otherwise can be taken after employment.

6 Months to 1 year experience in similar role or industry is Bonus.

Job Description:

•Coordinate and manage day-to-day operations within the organization.

•Ensure the proper allocation and distribution of resources (e.g., equipment, materials) across customers, to get maximum output.

•Maintain inventory and manage procurement processes for all Ship Stores supplies.

•Manage and update Ship schedules, ensuring proper alignment with Supply, Delivery timelines and operational goals.

•Act as a liaison between management, Ships, suppliers to ensure seamless communication.

•Ensure timely resolution of issues with any Ship Supplies and address any obstacles affecting operational efficiency.

•Maintain sales records, Suppliers database and Deliveries tracking system.

•Preparing regular progress reports for management.

•Ensure compliance with organizational & Ports policies, health and safety regulations, and industry standards.

•Continuously assess operational processes and suggest areas for improvement.

•Maintain positive relationships with vendors, contractors, and other external stakeholders.

•Delivery of Ship Stores to Ships coming to above mentioned Australian Ports.

•Providing invoices to the Captain, of Ships Orders and getting them signed from Ship staff as per company regulations.

•Collecting payment from vessel when required and agreed by Employer.

•Assembling Ship Stores and labelling them correctly.

•General Warehouse Maintenance Duties and Keeping Warehouse Clean and tidy, which will be passed on to staff hired in future for Warehouse.

•Preparing Technical stores order for the Ships includes Deck, Engine, Navigation, Medical, Bridge, Log lashing, Cabin Stores and other Ship Stores.

•Arranging and Maintaining Technical shelves, for easy identification of products.

•Being Company Representative on ship, listening to Customer needs and Providing solutions.

•Picking up goods from suppliers.

•Receiving orders from Ships and understand the trend of each customer.

•Upsell the products and resolve any complaints from Customers while onboard.

•Delivery of Stores to other Australian Ports apart from New South Wales Ports whenever required, which may include an overnight stay.

•Weekend Deliveries, as you may be required on weekends, time off will be given accordingly as per Employment Contract.

•Maintenance of all company vehicles and Record Books.

•Keep all company Vehicles compliant and up-to-date all the times.

•All your PPE(Personal Protective Equipment’s) and other records like Port Induction, License Should be up to date all times to carry out Jobs Smoothly, once all these are obtained.
