Alkimos Baptist College is seeking to employ a highly motivated and innovative Christian educator to join the College as a Primary Teacher for a fixed term in Term 3 and 4 2025 (possibility of ongoing).

About Alkimos Baptist College

Alkimos Baptist College is located in Merriwa and is a co-educational College that commenced in 2011 and will has approximately 390 students from Kindergarten to Year 12. The College is a small school (single stream per year level) that has a strong community spirit and provides strong educational outcomes within a Christian context.

The College is part of Australian Baptist Education and is governed by the College Board. The College Board appoints the College Principal who is responsible for the leadership of the College. Selection Criteria

Essential

To have a personal faith and commitment to Jesus Christ including regular church attendance and a lifestyle consistent with the expectations of Christian faith

Be a qualified teacher registered with the TRBWA, hold a Working With Children Check and have a commitment to child safety and wellbeing

The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including staff, students, families and community stakeholders

Highly Desired Qualities

Knowledge of the WA Curriculum, particularly relating to Year 3, and an ability to engage students with its content

Knowledge and experience in pastoral care and behaviour management of primary school students

Integrity, initiative, organisational and record keeping skills underpinned by commitment to achieving excellence

Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills

Comprehensive understanding of educational trends and student needs

Expressive love for Jesus Christ

Consistency, accuracy, punctuality, thoroughness, empathy, compassion and care
