Sydney Shade Sails (NSW) Pty Ltd is a leading company in the Shade Industry of NSW, specialising in the design, fabrication and installation of shade structures and sails for commercial clients such as builders, schools and child care centres.

We offer varied work across greater Sydney and occasionally country NSW.

The role suits competent individuals who enjoy leading a small team, problem solving, physical work in the outdoors and who can do heavy lifting.

Our company is looking to employ a professional leading-hand/ supervisor responsible for the following duties:

Leading and guiding a small team of 1-4 people

Planning, preparing, setting out and working on the tools throughout large and small projections (hands on).

Teaching trainees whilst onsite during installation

Preparation for projects prior to heading to sites, ensuring all tools and equipment required are loaded and organised.

Manage onsite construction activities to ensure projects are completed to the highest standards of quality.

Plan for, monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, company policy and procedures.

Coordination with other trades and site foremen on construction sites or the client to ensure that construction plans are followed accurately and smoothly.

Toolbox talks

Troubleshoot and resolve any problems or obstacles that may arise during construction to ensure that projects stay on track.

You shall possess:

a white card

current driver's license (LR license desirable)

national police clearance certificate

working with children check ( or we can help you obtain this)

Certificate 3 Trade or above

Good literacy and numeracy skills

Ability to read and understand Architectural & Engineer plans

At least 2 years of experience in shade sail structure installations or a similar role with transferable skills.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, site supervisors, subcontractors and staff.

High attention to detail and ability to ensure the projects are completed to the highest standard of quality

Good organisational, planning and observation skills

Knowledge of construction safety and ability to implement and follow safe work procedures.

You will be trained in the installation of our products:

steel posts, support brackets and steel frames

installation of shade sails, textile canopies, outdoor blinds and awnings
