Casual Office Assistant – Design Consultancy

This dynamic product design & technology development consultancy is seeking a generalist Office & Accounting Assistant to support operations for between 12 to 16 hours per week.
The company’s clients consist of enthusiastic start-up founders, research professionals, and experienced entrepreneurs, who are looking to develop innovative products and technologies that will ultimately shape the future.
This role would suit an organised, tech competent and details-focused all-rounder with experience in basic accounting and with good communications skills. Reporting to the Business Manager, working arrangements can be flexible to accommodate the needs of the right candidate.
Typical job responsibilities include:
● Filing accounts payable receipts to reconciliation accounts
● Receiving and sending shipments
● Database maintenance and reporting
● Meeting Room support e.g. getting coffees, putting out water
● Ordering office supplies and sundries
● General reception supporting activities, including welcoming visitors
● Providing other general operational and administrative support, to fill in the gaps
The ideal candidate will have:
● Performed similar work in a previous role
● Bookkeeping data entry experience in Xero, report generation, maintaining databases
● Experience with project-based work and/or consultancies
● Organised with strong attention to detail
● Be comfortable greeting and talking to people
● A high level of self-motivation and problem solving
● Outstanding written and verbal communications skills in English
● Self-sufficiency – be able to move through a range of activities and be ok with interruptions
● Experience with typical computer applications, such as Xero, Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc
● Tertiary studies will be highly regarded– e.g. in Business, Administration, Accounting, Commerce, Marketing
