About the Role

Reporting to the Team Leader – Environmental Health the core responsibilities include:

• Lead the implementation the Mornington Peninsula Shire’s Onsite Wastewater Management Plan
• Undertake community education and pro-active educational visits of onsite wastewater management (septic) systems throughout the municipality.
• Undertake environmental sampling and monitoring.
• Develop and implement policies for wastewater management and environmental protection.

About You

• Tertiary qualification in Environmental Health, Environmental Science, Water Science, or a related field (Desirable)
• Sound knowledge of the installation, operation, and maintenance of onsite wastewater systems
• Understanding of the current regulatory framework for onsite wastewater systems, including the Environment Protection Act 2017 (Vic)
• Demonstrated experience in community environmental education.
• Experience in local government, EPA, water authorities or other complex organisations is desirable
