About This Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Learning Design and in close collaboration with the Professor, Indigenous Education, this position has a distinct focus on Indigenising the Curriculum and will support the design of curriculum, assessment, active and flexible pedagogies, and work-integrated learning to enhance teaching quality in courses and coursework programs, and support and enable academic staff across the University to do the same.
Key responsibilities will include:
Lead Curriculum Indigenisation
- Drive the transformation of curriculum within Schools to embed Indigenous knowledges and perspectives, collaborating on the application of Indigenous pedagogies and curriculum design for innovative course development that enhances student learning.
Develop University-Wide Expertise
- Champion the development of a professional learning suite focused on Indigenising the curriculum to build expertise across the University.
Design & Implement Indigenous Learning Approaches
- Design, develop, implement, and evaluate Indigenous pedagogical, curriculum, and assessment approaches for both online and face-to-face delivery, providing expert advice and support to academic staff.
Foster Collaborative Partnerships & Knowledge Sharing
- Forge collaborations with faculties, ITaLI, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Unit, Library, and external partners to implement and improve institutional approaches to Indigenising the curriculum and enhancing student learning, while maintaining and communicating knowledge of current and future trends in teaching and learning.

About You

The successful candidate will be required to provide evidence to confirm that they are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
- A degree/advanced diploma with 4+ years relevant experience in education/learning design or similar.
- Experience developing online and on-campus resources informed by Indigenous studies and learning principles, with a commitment to professional development and scholarly practice.
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver professional learning on developing learning assets incorporating Indigenous Knowledges and appropriate technologies, with a strong commitment to client needs supported by teamwork and communication skills.
- Proven capacity to provide leadership and practical guidance on traditional and technology-enhanced curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment to diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise tasks through time and project management, working autonomously with strong attention to detail.
