We are in the market for a self-motivated and experienced individual to join our City Parks Natural Areas team. You are passionate about your profession and enjoy the rewards of a good challenge by providing efficient and effective general bushland maintenance tasks and monitoring within the City’s bushland, estuary, and coastal reserves.

What impact will you make?
- General litter collection;
- Fence installation and repair;
- Assisting with native species planting, tree guarding, watering and seed collection and processing;
- Tree planting, guarding and monitoring;
- You enjoy working with people, can build strong relationships.
- You assist with the assessment and monitoring activities within reserves and implement management plans for high priority natural areas.
- You operate tools and spray equipment in a professional and safe manner and can identify and control weeds in the natural area.
- You contribute to the team in providing natural area maintenance tasks including:
- You ensure the proper operation and security of materials, plant and equipment.
- You undertake daily regular maintenance and safety inspections of tools and machinery.
- You are skilled in traffic management.
What can you bring to the team?
- Certificate III and/or Cert IV in Conservation and Land Management OR Five (5) years on ground experience in conservation and land management
- Current unrestricted C class national drivers’ licence
- Current White Card
- Current Certificate in Basic Worksite Traffic Management
- Chainsaw Ticket
- Sound native plant knowledge and identification
- Experience in natural area maintenance and rehabilitation including construction, assessment and monitoring
- Identification of weeds and the safe handling and application of herbicide
- Competent in the use of tablets, smartphones and other electronic devices
The finer details
This permanent full time OSE 3 position attracts a starting salary of $72,795 gross per annum dependent on qualifications and experience.
