We are a well-established Manufacturing Company located in Brisbane that specialises in precision CNC machining and assembly tasks to produce complex aerospace components and mechanical sub-systems. We invest heavily in modern equipment, and work in a clean environment, to make some of the most challenging and complex components and systems on the market today. We work nearly exclusively with Digital Product, using modern manufacturing systems, processes, and CAD models to manufacture and inspect parts.
Ferra works with partners like Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrup Grumman, Parker Aerospace, and many others to manufacture parts for the F-35 Lightning II, MQ-28 Ghost Bat, AH-64E Apache Helicopter, Commercial Airliners, and many other military programs.
We have several positions available to support those programs in the Assembly department. Day & Afternoon shift available.
We would love somebody with experience working on products with knowledge of Aerospace production methods and system, like Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and other Aerospace Prime production systems. A background working in AS9100 environments is a big plus, and strong knowledge of Aerospace standard assembly techniques, including Drill and Rivet using Solid and Pull riveting, Click bonds, Freeze Fit and boring of bushings, sealant applications, and the installation of other fasteners, we are also looking for experienced engineering tradesmen with none of those skills, but who have a diligent approach to making things, and who are willing to gain new skills in a new direction.

We are looking for people to join our team, who are proud to produce Australian made aviation products, and who can take pride in their work when they see a jet fly by.
Responsibilities and duties will include:
- Assembly of aerospace mechanical components and systems.
- Fit components together and install aerospace fasteners, standoffs, rivets and other hardware to aerospace specifications and standards as required.
- Apply part marking using various inks and equipment IAW customer quality requirements.
- Apply adhesives, sealants and paint products as required.
- Install hardware using Shrink fitment techniques.
- Use initiative to keep processes moving and on schedule.
- Provide support to other tradesmen and trades assistants in Aerospace production processes.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage your own time and complete tasks efficiently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer Literacy with regards to understanding of 3D models & extraction of key data to support production
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Experience in Aerospace assembly techniques, using hand tools and hand operated power tools.
- Use of measuring equipment including Vernier’s, Micrometers etc.
- Ability to read drawings and other technical instructions to complete production tasks.
- Trade qualification or higher in Engineering or Manufacturing (Certificate III in an Engineering Discipline, such as Sheet Metal or Machining, Or Cert II or Cert VI in Aero skills)
Desirable
- Previous work history in Aerospace Component or System Assembly
- Previous work history in Aerospace Component MRO
