About Us:

We are a leading supplier of valves, actuators and associated process equipment to the chemical, oil and gas, mineral processing and power generation sectors. Our dedication to innovation and quality has made us a trusted name in the industry, serving cutting-edge solutions to our ever expanding clientele. We are currently seeking a Valve Assembler / Technician to join our growing operation based at our head office work shop at Eagle Farm Brisbane.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Valve Assembly: Assemble valves and related components, including trim components, actuators, and auxiliary components. Follow detailed drawings, schematics, and product specifications.
  • Component Inspection: Inspect all components and materials prior to assembly to ensure they meet quality standards and are defect-free. Report any issues to management or quality control.
  • Testing and Calibration: Conduct hydrostatic and gas testing, along with seat leak testing. Perform functional testing of assembled valves to verify proper operation and ensure leak-free performance. Calibrate valves as necessary.
  • Conceptualisation and Design: Develop mounting kits that securely attach actuators and instrumentation to valves while meeting dimensional and technical requirements.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Accurately document each assembly stage, inspection results, testing outcomes, and any encountered issues. Maintain up-to-date production records and ensure high-quality test reports and photographs.
  • Quality Control: Adhere to stringent quality control procedures to ensure all assembled valves meet company and industry standards for safety, performance, and durability.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives by suggesting enhancements to assembly techniques, tools, or equipment to improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Ownership & Accountability: Ensure equipment performs reliably under operational conditions and meets customer specifications. Work independently on valve assemblies, escalating complex issues or design changes to management or engineering.
  • General Workshop Duties: Maintain a clean and organised work area, store and maintain tools and equipment properly, and adhere to safety protocols to prevent accidents and non conformances.

Key Relationships and Collaboration:

  • Internal Collaboration: Work closely with our Application Engineering, Stores, Sales, Procurement and Operations teams to ensure availability of correct parts, adherence to assembly processes, and compliance with customer requirements.
  • External Collaboration: Communicate with suppliers and customers to resolve part-related issues and support post-assembly technical inquiries.
  • Stakeholder Management: Regularly report assembly progress to relevant parties and escalate potential delays or risks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in valve assembly or similar role within the industry.
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, data sheets, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control with a focus on meeting industry standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to team goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Current forklift license desirable.

Experience:

  • Extensive experience in valve assembly, valve service, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of control valves, industrial process control valves, actuators, instruments, tooling, and accessories.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
  • Opportunities for career growth and professional development in a dynamic and innovative environment.
