Rare 12-month Governance Officer contract with long-term extension in the National Security Portfolio

This is a large Federal government Department within the National Security Portfolio that is responsible for a wide range of functions that focuses on the enduring security for Australian Nation, as well as engagement internationally on Multicultural Affairs.

Your new role
The role supports the governance functions, through assurance, auditing, collaboration, and best practices. It involves maintaining and developing frameworks, tools, and guides, and providing executive reports, briefings, and discussion papers for decision-making on investment, performance, maintenance, and funding.

Key responsibilities include:

• Interpreting, drafting, and reviewing policy and procedural instructions
• Ensuring compliance with legislative, financial, and administrative frameworks and departmental directives.
• Reporting to the Assistant Director of Procurement, Contracts, and Governance.
• Assisting in providing critical support to the section to ensure lawful, ethical, and efficient business practices.
• Ensuring accountability, transparency, and responsiveness in processes.

What you'll need to succeed
This role is only open to Australian citizens, and you must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Government Security Clearance (Baseline, NV1 or NV2). You must also be willing to undertake a National Police Check.

To be successful in this role, you must have at least 2 years' experience in a governance position or have extensive experience in the duties listed above.
