Based either Sydney CBD or Wellington (NZ) with travel, $180k-220k + Super + Bonus

Our client has serviced some of the largest organisations across Australia and New Zealand through their expertise in design, manufacturing and installation. They deliver modern and beautifully crafted workplace furniture and office solutions that are practical, ergonomic and comfortable throughout the day. Having targeted areas for strategic growth and development, they are keen to enlist the services of a commercially focused finance professional to support the Executive Management Team in realising these growth ambitions.

Reporting to the General Manager, and managing a Finance team based in both Australia and NZ as well as an outsourced function in Asia. You will be tasked with bringing the management reporting, analysis and business accounting functions in house (currently outsourced to a Professional Accounting Firm) and building robust systems, processes and policies to deliver reliable and timely financial reporting and business insights. This role will add significant impact and expertise in streamlining disparate systems and reporting tools to integrate with their ERP solution to create a robust reporting and MIS platform.

This role has carriage across all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring the company complies with all regulatory requirements. This role requires a strategic thinker who can manage financial risks, optimise processes, and provide actionable insights to support the company’s growth and profitability, with a particular focus on managing complex intercompany transactions, inventory control, and project-based accounting. Your expertise in project and job costing will be essential in supporting the operational delivery teams and ensuring that margins, COGS and BOMS are all adequately managed.

You are CPA/CA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 5-7 years of experience in a senior finance role, preferably in a project-based manufacturing business, or similar industry. You can demonstrate experience with ERP, and integrated accounting systems, with a track record of leveraging these systems for financial reporting and analysis. Understanding of inventory control, complex intercompany transactions, project accounting, including revenue recognition, income in advance, advanced FP&A and WIP analysis would be highly desirable. You are a confident communicator who enjoys "getting out from behind the desk" and into the operations to understand the business.

Please note that this role can either be based in Sydney CBD or Wellington (NZ), but with the expectation of travel between the regions, sales offices and operational sites across the Australian Eastern Seaboard and New Zealand.
