WHO YOU ARE

We’re seeking a hands-on Senior Financial Accountant who enjoys diving into detail as much as providing strategic oversight. You'll own critical financial processes and tackle challenges head-on, supported by our junior accountant handling day-to-day reconciliations and routine tasks. You'll have the autonomy to identify issues, propose improvements, and implement solutions, particularly within our Shopify eCommerce and Xero accounting environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Oversee and review month-end close processes, including preparation and analysis of financial statements (P&L, balance sheets).

Conduct detailed financial analysis and reporting to ensure accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment.

Lead detailed account reconciliations and proactively investigate discrepancies, collaborating closely with our junior accountant.

Ensure compliance with GST, PAYG, BAS lodgements, and other statutory requirements.

Prepare and submit end-of-financial-year (EOFY) documentation and reports, ensuring accurate and timely compliance.

Manage cashflow forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.

Drive improvements and efficiencies in financial processes and systems, especially within our Shopify and Xero frameworks.

Provide actionable insights and recommendations to management based on comprehensive financial analysis.

Collaborate directly with the founder and key stakeholders to support strategic decision-making.

WHAT YOU BRING

CA/CPA qualified with at least 4+ years’ experience in financial accounting, ideally within an eCommerce or retail environment.

Proven hands-on experience with Xero accounting software and ideally Shopify.

Strong analytical skills, problem-solving capabilities, and meticulous attention to detail.

Excellent ability to independently identify, investigate, and resolve complex financial issues.

Advanced Excel skills for financial reporting, analysis, and modelling.

Exceptional communication skills, with confidence in presenting financial insights to management.

Comfortable working autonomously in a flexible, fast-paced, results-driven environment.
