Gippsland Southern Health Service (GSHS) is a major provider of healthcare in the South Gippsland Shire. About the Role

The Podiatrist will provide high quality podiatry services across the Gippsland Southern Health Service catchment area, including both hospital campuses at Leongatha and Korumburra and in the three aged care facilities. The podiatrist will provide a client centred service, using their assessment skills to develop individual treatment plans. Flexible full time or Part time position(s) available and grading will depend on experience.

Responsibilities of a Podiatrist at GSHS include:

Assessing, managing and advising inpatients and outpatients on all podiatry related matters and implementing an active service model.

Collaborating with clients and carers regarding assessment, treatment and prognosis, and instructing carers in assisting the client’s treatment program.

Working as an active member of the podiatry team, providing client centred podiatric care to members of the South Gippsland community.

Applying evidence based clinical skills and knowledge in the treatment of podiatric conditions.

Working in a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement client centred care plans.

Being involved in quality improvement and service development projects to enhance innovative and efficient practices.

Supervising Podiatry students and Allied Health Assistants.

Continuously developing skills through ongoing education.

Liaising with external partners to ensure a quality service is provided to our communities

Actively engaging in team meetings and case discussions both within the Podiatry team and Allied Health team.

Maintaining up-to-date, legible notes in accordance with legal requirements.

About You

Applicants should possess the following qualifications/experience:

Completed a Bachelor of Podiatry or similar qualification

Current registration with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Be a member or eligible for membership of the Victorian Podiatry Association

Experience working with aged and vulnerable clients

Experience in developing, implementing and evaluating client focused care plans

Current Police Check, Victorian driver’s license, Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
